PHOTOSHOP Make Color Pop out of Black and White

Performed on a Mac using Photoshop CS6.
    Time: 4:50

Photoshop Make Color Pop out of Black and WhiteYou can make anything pop out beautifully from a black and white photo by using the Freeform Pen tool to draw around your object, make a selection, inverse it and desaturate it. (The image does need to be in color to begin with.)This works best with colorful images with clearly defined objects that you want to highlight. I work with a low-end Bamboo tablet which makes digital drawing much easier, but you can easily use your mouse also. Just make sure you are zoomed in so you can see the edges of your object clearly.

Today in Adobe Photoshop we will learn how to desaturate part of a color image and leave part of it in color using:

    The Freeform Pen Tool

    Desaturate

Fear not, little crickets. These tools only exist to help YOU navigate around the artboard with confidence and a skill level near wizardry. Remember to always save a copy of your original.

For my PC brethren, remember: Command = Control and Option = Alt.
